Partnership Working Event Success

Audit Yorkshire and 360 Assurance ran a successful event on 2 March 2020 that focussed on partnership working and how STPs/ICPs/ICSs can start to develop effective governance, risk management and assurance processes despite not being statutory organisations.

The day opened with a presentation by Helen Arthur (Deputy Head System Transformation at NHS England & NHS Improvement) which gave on a view from the centre, including:

  • Current thinking on overal system architecture
  • Update on governance principals
  • Overview of how this is reflected in the planning guidance
  • Approach to continuing developing ICS across the country in 20/21

Dr John Bullivant (Chair of Advisory Committee at Good Governance Institute) then delivered an interactive workshop focussing on the assurances that Board sub-committees could/should be delivering to Boards regarding partnership working. This was followed by Gerard Hanratty (Partner and Head of Health at Browne Jacobson LLP) discussing the legal requirements and constraints of partnership working.

The day closed with a presentation by Chris O'Neill (Programme Director at Humber Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership) who identified the next steps to take to improve partnership working.

The event was very well attended by delegates from across Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Feedback received included

"Very good programme"

"A very useful and stimulating day"

"Excellent well organised event"

"Very informative"

We are currently working on our event plan for 2020/21 and details will be circulated once confirmed.
