Gung-Ho! for Children in Need
The Audit Yorkshire team took part in the 2019 Gung-Ho! series on 13 April at Harewood House. The team navigated their way around a 5k course whilst tackling enormous inflatables up to 50m long and 8m high!
Despite the icy winds, we all had a great day and enjoyed the challenge posed by the obstacles and hilliness of Harewood House grounds.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and the team members who took part on the day, we are so pleased to report that the total Audit Yorkshire’s Gung-Ho effort has raised £459.38 with Gift Aid.
This money goes to Children in Need, and will help them in their work to support disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK. With public support, they are able to change almost half a million young lives every single year:
- £25 funds an activity workshop for a group of children in a hospice, giving them the opportunity to express their feelings, have fun and enjoy their childhood.
- £50 means a specialist carer can visit and support a seriously ill child at home, improve their wellbeing and make them feel less isolated.
- £100 means a teenager whose dad has died can get ongoing support from a counsellor to help them manage their grief, explore the pain and isolation they feel, and equip them for a bright future
This means the money raised is enough to make a difference to the lives of many children, so thank you so much to everyone who took part in any way and to the Audit Yorkshire team for getting behind the event.
We’ve got some great photos as souvenirs of the day, and are already excited for our next challenge of completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks later in the Summer!
